The Des Moines Schools Home Instruction Program is an alternative K-12 educational program open to all families who choose to home school their children.
The Home Instruction Assistance Program started in 1984 as a result of parent requests. It began with one teacher and fifteen students. We now have nine supervising teachers and serve over 380 students.

A staff member will be in the office once a week throughout the summer to return voice mail - please be patient! Daily office hours will not resume until Monday, August 5, 2013

Hours are:
Monday through Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm
Friday 8:00am-3:30pm
Please call 242-8490 to confirm someone is in the office - if our secretary is ill or has a meeting, there may not be anyone in the office until she returns.
